Also called as lateral medullary syndrome is a syndrome that occurs due to the occlusion of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery. The signs and symptoms are as follows:

SYMPTOMS:

  • Sudden episode of vertigo
  • Dysphagia and vomitings
  • Ataxia

SIGNS:

  • Contralaterally: Hemiperesis
  • Ipsilaterally: Facial numbness, diplopia, nystagmus, ataxia and Horner syndrome
